Bottle sometimes comes out still cold or too warm. You really have to play around with it to know what temperature setting suits you best. It's nice that it's small and doesn't use a lot counterspace. I wish it was more accurate on the settings.
Just keep an eye on it. The bottle warmer works as advertised. I like the aesthetics of it and it lasted without a problem through my son's eating-at-night period. It may overheat the bottle if you don't monitor it, but it worked well for us.
It's great because you can adjust the heat and it's CONSISTENT. We got it so we set the dial at a position and left it for 3-4 minutes and got exactly the temp we wanted. Keep in mind with any warmer, you have to keep an eye on it.
If you know you want more time to let the bottle heat, turn it down and do the same test. We used it for more than a year and the thing was consistent the whole time. Likewise for less time.
This is a great warmer. until you know how long it takes at a dial setting to heat the milk to the temperature you want. It's espeially great because you can leave a nanny with instructions and feel more at ease that she'll get it right.
We used it primarily to heat breast milk. When you first get it, set the dial in the middle, put a bottle of refrigerated milk in it and then keep testing it at 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc.
It is a perfect fit for the 5-6oz bottles. The second time the light goes out it is usually ready - about 4-5 mins. And then of course I was afraid my baby would grab it. I only wish it was a little taller for the 9oz bottles. It works well if you fill the water to the top of the milk/formula level in the bottle. I didn't appreciate how good this warmer was until I tried another one recommended by a friend.
The steam rising out of it was very hot and the bottles and particularly the nipple rings got so hot I burnt my fingers more than once. The bottle itself gets warm but not hot so you have no problem holding it. The other warmer was "The First Years Night&Day Bottle Warmer System" which steams the bottles. When the indicator light goes off I take the bottle out, shake it and put it back in. I would definitely recommend it as a quick and safe way to heat your baby's bottles. I think this warmer is dangerous.
Also, the first couple of times I used it the bottle tops flew off like champagne corks, so I had to remember to take them off first. The Avent warmer heats the bottle immersed in water.
the only drawback is that there is no timer and there is no cutoff for the power.what would make this item better is a temp measure cutoff. This is a nice item, it heats water, formula, and frozen baby food relatively quickly.
